Ding Dong - The Mud is Done

Stefan (above) and Kyle (below) lead a crew of anywhere of 3~5 Japanese pro plasterer's (see third picture down) over the weekend and the walls are now officially done.....on the inside and for this year. Next year, we will apply the final coat on the outside, but we are done mudding for now and we can focus on other parts of the house build!!! After 4 months of the walls being front of mind, it's nice to focus on the final touches that need to be done in order for us to make Square One livable by the end of November. Woo-hoo!!!

The walls that will surround the horigotatsu area (above) are looking fantastic. The conbination of olive green plaster and golden straw will look wonderful with the tatami mats. The big nicho by the deck (below) is looking very nice, too. As it was getting plastered, Maiko and Toby decided to do a two-tone artistic touch to this particular nicho. So far so good. We are looking forward to seeing how it dries.

Finally, Toby went to the property this morning and added some video footage of where we are now. See the next post for a video link and tour of Square One.
